TV and movies always seem to portray tattoo shops as dark, scary places full of leather clad bikers who love to harass anyone who walks through the door. Twenty yeras ago, this may have been a little closer to the truth, but so many tattoo shops today look more like high end salons than you might think. By continuing to push tattoo shops into the less than desirable areas of town we are only making them less accessible to the average person and furthering the stereotypical image that so many people have in their heads.
It is difficult to break the cycle because the people making the decisions to push the tattoo shops out of town are the same people who have never set foot in a shop. We need more shops like this one, located in high end malls, to allow more people to see that tattoo shops are no longer the scary places they may have been back in the day. I wish Kathy and Tiffany the best of luck with their shop.
